Harp Summer School
20 – 23 August 2025 at Gwernyfed High School Three Cocks, Nr Glasbury, Powys LD3 0SG.
As we approach our 13th Harp Summer School, we have made some changes that we hope will enhance participant’s experience. Students, irrespective of their playing level, will experience 4 musical genres, Classical; Welsh folk; Jazz and improvisation; arrangements for harp orchestra/ensembles.
The tutors will be Eleri Darkins, Co-director of Music, Manon Browning, Co- director of Music, Emily Harris and Amanda Whiting. Each tutor will focus on specific areas across all groups: Eleri, Welsh Folk Music; Manon, harp arrangements; Emily, classical Music and Amanda, Jazz and improvisation (Amanda will be with us on the 21stand 23rd only). In addition, we will have Rose Graham with us again as an assistant tutor to work with our younger participants. There will be a concert on the 21 August and the final concert on the afternoon of the 23rd.
There will be three levels of teaching, advanced (grades 6-8, adult intermediate (grades 3-6), young people intermediate (grades 2-5) and beginners (grade 1 upwards). Participants do not have to have sat grade exams but are playing music at those levels.

We are introducing an ‘early bird’ ticket for anyone booking before 31 March 2025 and higher price from April 1st, follows:

Concerts
There will be 2 concerts, one on Thursday 21 August at 7.30pm involving our tutors and a second on Saturday 23 August at 2.30pm in which all the participants will play.
