GLASBURY ARTS 23 rd ANNUAL ART EXHIBITION
16 th to 20 th October 2026 at Glasbury Village Hall

Following another successful Annual Art Exhibition in 2025, planning for this year’s
exhibition is well underway. Taking place from 16 th to 20 th October 2026 the exhibition
will be part of the biannual Celebration of Welsh Contemporary Painting (COWCP).
COWCP showcases work by contemporary artists through a series of exhibitions
across multiple venues in Wales across the year. The number of venues participating
has increased since the ‘;celebration’ began in 2017 and our annual exhibition at
Glasbury has been included since the start.

To tie in with the Celebration of Welsh Contemporary Painting, all artworks in this
year’s exhibition will feature some form of painting, whether that be on canvas,
paper, ceramics, textiles or sculpture.

Artists confirmed to exhibit at Glasbury this year are:

  • Contemporary painters, Veronica Gibson, Alan Salisbury, Amanda Turner,
    Tracy Thursfield, Sue Williams, Maggy Roberts, Jessie Dixon and Adrian Kay.
  • Sally Matthews, Sculptor, Caitriona Cartwright, stone lettercutter & carver,
  • Dawn Cripps, textile artist, Gracie Price, ceramist and illustrator, and
  • Christine
    Williams (also known as Melangell), a pigmented beeswax artist.
  • Mixed media artists, Jenni Hall, Clarissa Price, Juliet Parker Smith and Sarah
    Langton
  • New artists for 2026: Helen Arthur, Longtown based landscape painter and
    printmaker, Chris Garrett, a painter from Clyro and Stef Thelwell, a local
    sketchbook artist.
  • Artworks by the GSCE and A-Level students of Gwernyfed High School.

As well as original artworks, a selection of cards, prints and other items will be
available to browse and purchase.
A proportion of funds raised through the exhibition go to Glasbury Arts, to ensure we
can keep our volunteer led charity going and our programme of visual arts and music
events running year on year.

Last year’s exhibition welcomed over 300 visitors over the four days of opening.

We
hope the photographs displayed here from previous exhibitions will give you a taste
of what to expect this year.
